DEAR Mr. Liddy,

It is with deep regret that I submit my notice of resignation from A.I.G. Financial Products...

  1. Tonight I decided to take the kids to the park after school, but one of them ran into the street when they got out of the car. After jerking my little darling just about clean out of their jacket and back onto the curb, I turned and announced "That's it, both of you, in the house! Park trip CANCELLED!"

"But I didn't do anything wrong!!!", screamed the other one, "You're punishing everybody because you're mad!!"

"That's right, " I said, "And let that be a lesson to you. You break a rule so important that it threatens everybody, then EVERYBODY gets punished so that NOBODY forgets."

PS: Breeders got it made - kids are like metaphor generators.

  2. what i take away from this letter is that all of us have been ready to burn down the aig house and string up anyone in any way connected to it.

it's worth looking deeper, and seeing past our initial reaction. i.e. obama's desire not to govern out of anger.

    no?

  4. Follow up: I suggest a read of Matt Taibbi's article in Rolling Stone in response to this letter:
