Seymour Hersh? You're referencing a Seymour Hersh article? I would argue this is a source of dubious credibility, and one with an obvious agenda. Meh. We can do better.

ReplyDeletedubiousness and agenda aside, he's a pulitzer prize winning reporter who's also won major awards for investigative journalism (the george polk award) as recently as 2004. his fifth polk, by the way. and the story is in a major national publication (the new yorker.)
however. you'll be glad to know i did consider the source. and not that i don't have a mind of my own, but after i saw the story linked at politico, huffington post, talkingpoints memo, mark halperin's the page, and other well known, respectable, blogs, well...being the mindless liberal obamabot that i am, i fell right in line.
i also used my own judgement (something i do quite often on this blog.) i might have been eating an apple fritter at the time, so i was in a pretty good mood. "is this something i'd believe dick cheney would do?" i thought to myself. and, well.

"Perfidious Albion"? Does that sound like Cheney? What bothers me most about Seymour is his liberal use of anonymous sources and the seeming bitchiness of everyone in his stories.

I defer to the notoriously thorough fact-checkers at the New Yorker however, in clearing this latest bit of muck-stirring by Seymour.
And just because the rest of the gang is doing it, doesn't mean a venerable blog like TUESDAYS should follow suit.
That, being said, the effects of a good apple fritter should never be under estimated.
