hockey vs. art: skylight not alone

the skylight isn't the only theater to eliminate the artistic director position from it's line-up in the last year.

last fall, the boarshead theater in michigan told their AD to take a hike. technically, they told kristine thatcher in may 2008 that her contract would expire and not be renewed come august 31st. four months, as opposed to the skylight's sunday evening hatchet job, terminating AD bill theisen's job effective the following friday.

boarshead board chair larry meyer:

"I certainly understand the business side very well. I don't understand the theater part of it. I'm just an old hockey guy."
