the squirm patrol

i've been amazed and tickled over the last few days, watching republican pundits and representatives try to defend the choice of sarah palin as mccain's vp nominee. the phrase "grasping at straws" comes to mind.

• and later, on larry king live, james carville readily rebuts crazytown michelle bachmann, congresswoman from minnesota.

bachmann, you might recall, was the loon who said we don't need to "save the planet" from climate change because, "we all know that someone did that over 2,000 years ago, they saved the planet -- we didn't need nancy pelosi to do that."
