seventy-five percent want you to serve

a new washington post-abc news poll shows three-quarters of americans support openly gay people serving in the u.s. military.

like a recent quinnipiac poll, the breakdown into demographic groups here seems most interesting. seniors (69%) are less likely than young adults (81%) to support a repeal of dadt, an example of shifting attitudes among the generations. even more important:
Knowing a gay person makes a big difference: Among those who say they have a gay friend or family member, 81 percent support allowing gay people to serve openly, compared with 66 percent who say they do not know someone who is gay.
got something to tell your mom, or your brother, or your best friend?
