    I suspect there's also a notion, in the far-right of the Repubican party (the people that actually believe in Sarah Palin) that allowing DADT to die on Obama's watch will play into their characterization of his adminstration and give them political points with their base. "Satan's own president let the gays into our army!" They will (I hope) be surprised in 2012 to discover that the majority no longer consider it an issue...but I'm pretty sure they still do.
