beatle: i had one yesterday.

46 years ago this month the beatles arrived to thousands of frenzied fans at new york's jfk airport. what followed was a landmark two weeks in the united states that included their legendary february 9th appearance on the ed sullivan show.

long before their grey gardens days, albert and david maysles documented the beatles' trip. we've all seen footage of band performing on the sullivan show, but the film's intro includes the band's arrival, their first u.s. press conference, and a few unguarded moments in the hotel room:
