"we were never given a chance."

steve allen, jack paar, johnny carson, jay leno, conan o'brien, and...jay leno?

"after only seven months, with my tonight show in its infancy, nbc has decided to react to their terrible difficulties in prime-time by making a change in their long-established late night schedule," conan o'brien said today, in a letter addressed to the "people of earth."

to quote adam serwer, blogger & reporter for the american prospect, "conan is funny. jay is not funny. i don't understand what the issue is here."

i couldn't agree more.

  1. One more reason not to watch NBC anymore. This is sad how they are screwing Conan to please Leno and his need to be in the spot light. No one was watching Leno.... not because his show was on earlier but because the guy is not funny any idiot for see that. Leno is turning in to the Brett favre of Late night. Heres how I see it.... NBC will offer Leno his spot back on the Tonight show, drop O'Brien who will move to Fox since they offer him a sweet deal and NBC will see their ratings drop even more.
